As the weather continues to get warmer and the kids get eager for summer break, the Orange City Parks and Recreation Department is excited to launch its 2012 Summer Recreation Programs.

Orange City Arts Council has announced its schedule for shows in Orange CIty’s Windmill Park for the upcoming summer season.

Many outstanding women have helped shape Iowa, and strong female leaders continue to contribute their talents and skills to improve the lives of many. To recognize and honor their achievements, and provide visual examples for tomorrow’s female leaders, the Iowa Commission on the Status of Women established the Iowa Women’s Hall of Fame in 1975.

“Orange City has a treasured past and a vibrant future,” Mayor Les Douma said at the 2011 customer appreciation picnic and brand launch, and with three major groundbreakings this spring it proves true.

Residents of Orange City are being challenged to make a difference in the future of their community and “join the progress” through contributions to the re-invigorated Orange City 21 Foundation.

More than 50 names were submitted in response to the naming contest, and each were reviewed by the board. The Council endorsed the advisory board’s recommendation of “Prairie Winds Event Center.”

Kendra Schroeder, ARNP, will be providing wound, ostomy, continence, and foot and nail care for patients and residents at Orange City Area Health System.
