Recyclable & Non-recyclable Material

Non-recyclable Material

Orange City Sanitation is contracted to remove non-recyclable materials.

Residential waste containers must be made of galvanized metal, rubber, fiberglass, or plastic which does not become brittle in cold weather. Disposable containers or those approved by Orange City Sanitation may be used. They must have a minimum capacity of 10 gallons, and a maximum of 35 gallons. They must be of lightweight and sturdy construction, with a maximum weight of any individual container of 65 pounds when full. They must be of the type manufactured for storage of residential wastes with tapered sides for easy emptying and suitable lifting devices such as handles or bails. They must be waterproof and leak-proof.

All additional containers placed for collection must be marked with identifying tags for single or annual use with the rates set for single use collection tags or annual use collection tags and other solid waste disposal services annually or at such other times as deemed reasonable by the City Council. The rate at this time is $1 per container.

If you have large items such as furniture or appliances, please call and they will pick up or have you deliver them to their site here in Orange City.

To learn your scheduled day for non-recyclable materials pick see the Sanitation Collection Schedule. For more information contact Orange City Sanitation at 712-737-2645
