Twenty-two regional artists will be featured in the Orange City Arts Council’s exhibit November 13-22 at the DeWitt Theatre Arts Center at Northwestern College. A reception with the artists will be Saturday, Nov. 22 from 6:00 to 7:00pm.
The juried exhibit, Artists’ Showcase: Orange City Arts Council’s Regional Exhibition, is being held in conjunction with the Northwestern College production of Graham Greene’s The Power and the Glory.
Artists featured in the exhibit are Sara Alsum-Wassenaar, David Versluis, Jean-Guy Richard, Melissa Brantsen, Elena Wendt, Kali Wolkow, Lynae Dadisman, Brian J. Damon, Jacob Van Wyk, Faye Dengler, Betsy Brown,  Raynee Buckley, Mavis Simms, Matt Drissell, Rebekah Dykhuizen, Ken Fry, Timothy J. Arand-McIlrath, Emily Stokes, Bridget F. Rowe, Adam Peterson, Josh Wynia and Amelia Thies. They are from Orange City, Ireton, McCook Lake, Sioux Center, Sheldon, Sergeant Bluff, North Sioux City, Sioux City, Sac City, Okoboji, Omaha, West Des Moines and Wakonda SD. A few artists are area college students.
Media includes ceramics, four-color letterpress, monotype, lithography, oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas, watercolor, crayon, charcoal, glicee print, textile/ silk, food products, polyurethane, plaster, photography, linocut, etching, collage, and red twig dogwood with crocheted yarn, buttons and bracelets.
Jurors for the exhibit are artists Joanne Alberda of Sioux Center and Joan Brower of Orange City. They will announce “best of show” and “honorable mention” awards at the reception November 22. Cash prizes will be awarded.
