Orange City Continues to Grow Thanks to the Generosity of Our Community
Through GrowOC’s Utility Checkoff Program, residents like you are making local projects possible. Whether you’re already a donor or just learning about the program, we’re excited to share the latest updates. Here are five initiatives funded this year:
New Dutchmen Marching Band Uniforms
The Pride of the Dutchmen Marching Band Boosters received $20,000. After 35+ years, the Middle School band will purchase new uniforms. These uniforms will follow the traditional Dutch style that the band can continue to use at both the Orange City and Pella Tulip Festivals.
Support for OC Arts 2025 OnStage Orange City
Orange City Arts received $25,000 for the 2025 OnStage productions. Orange City Arts supports local and regional talent by showcasing artists during their summer OnStage events. This free concert series is held every Wednesday at 7:00 pm at Windmill Park. In addition, each month will host featured artists’ shows inside Stadscentrum, pre-event family activities, and arts and crafts from 5 to 7 pm. A variety of food trucks will also be present throughout the summer.
Tulip Festival received $25,000 for a wide variety of upcoming projects. A few of these include:
- Float maintenance, repair, and creation
- Improving our speaker system and offering an FM transmission option for our accessible parking area
- A costume and history research trip to the Netherlands
- Updating our website.
Funding to help with Hosting the Start of 2025 RAGBRAI
OC RAGBRAI received $20,000. Orange City will host RABGRAI in July 2025. We will be host to approximately 25,000 riders as we kick-off the event. Many local organizations and businesses will benefit from the influx of people and the opportunity to sell goods to our guests. There are hundreds of volunteers planning all of the logistics.
