How do I?

A wide variety of services are available to patrons of the Orange City Public Library. For more information on those services see below. Still have questions? Use the Ask a Librarian form below.

Come to the library card with a photo ID and proof of current address. Library cards are available free to residents of Orange City, Maurice, rural Sioux County, Northwestern College students, and Iowa residents of towns participating in the Open Access program. There is no age requirement for obtaining a library card, though cards for minors must be signed by a parent or guardian.

Free ebooks and e-audiobooks are available through Bridges (OverDrive/Libby), and cloudLibrary. Browse collections online, and download to your computer or mobile devices using each vendor’s app. Try online streaming video with CreativeBug and Bridges libraries.

Go beyond searches! Renew your materials, request materials for Inter-Library Loan or purchase, subscribe to receive all the new books by your favorite authors, and more! Log in to your library account using your 13 digit (leave off last letter) library card number, and your 7 digit telephone number (10 digit if not 712 area code). Go to the catalog.

Use this form to enquire about room availability. Rooms are generally available at no cost. Please see our Meeting Room Policy for more information.

Schedule exam proctoring by calling the library or contact the director at director@orangecitylibrary.org. For more information, see our Proctoring Policy.

Requesting books from other libraries is easy. Log in to your library account using your 13 digit library card number and telephone number. In “My Account,” select the Reserves/Requests tab. Click on the Request link in “Is the library missing something?” Fill in the form selecting “Yes” for the field “Is it OK to borrow from another library?” This way if an item is not purchased, the library will begin the loan process. You will be notified when your material comes in or alternatively, if we are unable to get the item. In-state borrowing has no cost. There is a $3 fee for interlibrary loans borrowed from out of state. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks to process your request.

The library is an internet access point, with public Wi-Fi (available 24/7) and 12 public computers for public use.* Printing and copying is available at $0.15 per page for black and white and $1.00 per page for color. Faxes may be sent or received for $1.00 for the first page (sending only) and $0.50 per page thereafter. Scanning to email or data storage device is available at no cost.

*The library’s designated agent to receive notifications of claimed copyright infringement is Lisa Johnson, library director. Send her an email or call 712-707-4302. This agent is also listed in DMCA Designated Agent Directory.
