Can the COVID-9 virus spread through drinking water?

COVID-19 has not been detected in drinking water. Groundwater systems (water pumped from wells), like Orange City, are much less susceptible to outside contamination than surface water systems (water pumped from lakes or rivers). Water treatment methods that use filtration and disinfection (which the City of Orange City uses) will remove or inactivate the virus.
