Tour the history and culture of our place, from Middleburg (Stanley Wiersma) to Granville (Josephine Donovan), from Hawarden (Ruth Suckow) to Doon (Fred Manfred) & Perkins (Jim Heynen). Read the books, visit the places, see how our writers have pictured our world.
Siouxland 101 will feature the work of five imaginative writers, all of whom were born in the area and whose work sometimes features familiar neighborhoods as well as themes that rise from familiar ground.
The class, led by writer Jim Schaap, begins Tuesday, March 31 and continues on April 28, May 26, June 23 and July 21, all 7:15 to 8:45pm. The first session will meet at the Middleburg Free Grace Reformed Church, with a discussion of Purpaleanie by Stanley Wiersma.
Register by March 17: $55. After March 17: $65
