Northwestern College will host its annual Day of Learning in Community. This year’s theme is “The Art of Courage.” Guest speaker Steve Taylor is a musician, writer, producer and film director with multiple Grammy and Billboard nominations and awards. Taylor’s latest film, Blue Like Jazz, based on Donald Miller’s book of the same title, stars Marshall Allman (True Blood) and Claire Holt (The Vampire Diaries and The Originals) and premiered at the South By Southwest Film Festival in 2012. Blue Like Jazz will be shown during the Day of Learning in Community and followed by a panel discussion with Taylor. Between Steve’s chapel presentation and the film screening, campus and community members will have opportunities to engage with art—both the creation of it and reflection on it.
