Watercolor Workshop:Â Adding Texture with Resists
Intermediate Level and Up

Saturday, Nov. 22:Â 10am to 3pm
Downtown campus, Orange City Area Health System 408 Central Ave NW: Â East entrance: lower level board room, Orange City.
Create exciting paintings using a variety of resist techniques including wax, tape, masking fluid and more, in this fun, hands-on one day workshop. Professional artist, Judy Thompson, will exhibit and explain how she uses these techniques in her own artwork to create texture, movement and contrast. All techniques will be demonstrated and applied to create a variety of compositions.
The day will include a break for lunch.
Judy Thompson’s artwork has received regional and national awards and has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the Midwest. She has been selected twice as an Artist-in-Residence with the National Park System, (Nebraska and South Dakota), and is an approved teaching artist for the Nebraska Arts Council. Through a grant, awarded by the Iowa Arts Council, her Homestead Series has toured the Midwest to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Homestead Act. Judy is a signature member of the Iowa Watercolor Society and enjoys teaching drawing and painting techniques to students of all ages.

Tube Watercolors
Assorted Brushes (flats and rounds)
Watercolor Paper -(#140)
Palette or Paper Plate
Water Container
Masking Tape
Backing Board (to secure paper)
Masking Fluid (will have available at workshop)
Supplies will be available for purchase, if needed.
