Orange City, Iowa – The Orange City Development Corporation is pleased to announce the opening of Kopetsky’s Ace Hardware in the spring of 2016.
Kopetsky’s Ace Hardware will occupy the former ALCO store, located at 510 8th Street SE in Orange City.
Spanning 24,000 square feet, Ace, “the helpful place,” will provide solutions to everyday home maintenance needs through an extensive selection of products, including, but not limited to: lawn and garden items, small appliances, paint, power tools and equipment, patio equipment, bicycles, fitness equipment and apparel.
“This building location on Highway 10 is an important part of our retail mix,” says Daryl Beltman, president of the Orange City Development Corporation. ”Ace and the Kopetsky’s bring a proven model of success and we look forward to partnering with them.”
Orange City’s Ace Hardware will be the second Ace store owned and operated by Leo, Carol, Gregg, Ken and Steph Kopetsky. Their first store, located in Yankton, South Dakota, was voted a “2011 Coolest Hardware Store on the Planet,” an international recognition given by the Ace Hardware Corporation.
“Ace Hardware is committed to providing home maintenance solutions, neighborly advice and resources to residents in the Orange City area,” says Ken Kopetsky. “We’re excited to be part of the community, and we look forward to making a positive impact for many years to come.”
Mike Hofman, executive director of the Orange City Chamber of Commerce, adds that Orange City is on a path to becoming a destination for retail shopping, entertainment and cultural offerings. “Our community is home to many niche shops and nationally recognized retailers,” he says. “We believe that Kopetsky’s Ace Hardware will be a perfect fit and help complement all of our retailers.”
The new Ace store will employ 15 to 20 “helpful hardware folks” who will provide personal, knowledgeable and helpful service to customers. In 2015, J.D. Power ranked the Ace Hardware Corporation “Highest in Customer Satisfaction among Home Improvement Retail Stores” for the ninth consecutive year.
With more than 4,800 hardware stores locally owned and operated around the world, Ace is the largest retailer-owned cooperative in the world. Ace’s retailers’ stores are located in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and approximately 60 countries.
