2019 Property Tax Rate Due 2020-2021

Orange City’s total property tax levy rate ranks 551st in the state compared to the other 943 Iowa communities. Property taxes due in 2020-2021increased to a rate of $32,72/$1,000 in comparison to $30.50 (707 rank in 2019-2020) or $30.43 (707 rank in 2017-2018).

In the Northwest Iowa survey below, six communities lowered their “city” property tax mill levy rate. Two were unchanged and one increased. The City of Orange City has been fortunate to manage it’s operating costs quite effectively while making prudent capital investments.

The surveys combined mill levy rate averaged $33.09 compared to Orange City’s $32.72.
