Orange City Municipal Aquatic Facility
Orange City Municipal Aquatic Facility located at 803 2nd St. SE. The pool is heated and offers zero-depth entry, a water slide, lap lanes, diving boards, a splash pad, shade areas and picnic tables, and changing rooms. Pool is open seven days a week during summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day).
Landsmeer Golf Club
Located on northeast side of town (7th St. NE). An 18-hole course with a practice facility including range, putting green, practice, sand bunker, and chipping green. The Dunlop Wildlife Trail connects to the southeast corner of the Landsmeer Trail and goes east two miles to the Dunlop Wildlife Area.
Puddle Jumper Trail
A two mile nature trail covered with crushed rock. A bridle path for horses also runs along side of the main trail. The path is a former railroad right-of-way connecting the communities of Orange City and Alton. Enjoy nature while walking, jogging, biking, or cross-country skiing (in the winter). Plenty of benches line the path. An open-air shelter, picnic tables, restrooms, and drinking fountain at the mid-point can be used as a rest area or picnic location. The mid-point is accessible from a gravel road off of Highway 10 E. Another access point is located on county road K-64 on the south side of Orange City, and the third access point is located on the west side of Alton.
Recreation Trail
A cement path located around the perimeter of Landsmeer Golf Club. The 2-mile path is great for walking, jogging, biking, or rollerblading.
Walking & Jogging
An all-weather track is located at Korver Field on the campus of Northwestern College. An indoor track is located in the Rowenhorst Student Center on the Northwestern campus.
Dunlop Wildlife Trail
The Dunlop Wildlife Trail is a concrete-surfaced walking/running/biking trail that connects to the southeast corner of the Landsmeer Trail and goes east two miles to the Dunlop Wildlife Area.
Robert M Dunlop Wildlife Area
Recently updated, Dunlop Wildlife Area has added 2 fishing piers, amphitheater, 2 tenting areas with fire pits, .58 mile crushed trail, stocked pond (catch and release)
A popular fishing spot for local anglers. No swimming allowed. Located just north of Alton, three miles east on Highway 10.
Veteran’s Park
Located on Iowa Ave SW—this park includes the Scout House, open air shelters, enclosed rental shelter, picnic tables, restrooms, play structures, two softball/baseball fields, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, roller-blade rink, basketball courts, and camping area equipped with electrical and water hook-ups.
Kinderspeelland
Located in Vet’s Park—this community built wooden playground was constructed in September 1996. All the labor for the project was donated by local citizens and the project was completed in five days. Kinderspeelland stands as a memorial to Ed Lancaster, long time Parks Supervisor.
Windmill Park
Downtown Orange City—this park includes an open air rental shelter, beautiful play structures, picnic tables, restrooms, and bandshell. It is the showcase park for the annual Tulip Festival.
Jaycee Park
Located on Albany Ave. SE—next to Northwestern College’s Korver Field—Jaycee Park has lighted tennis courts and two open air shelters.
Pool Park
Located at the aquatic facility (2nd St. SE) and close to Landsmeer Golf Club. Swimming Pool Park contains an enclosed rental shelter house, two open air shelters, restrooms, play structure, and plenty of open space for activities. Access to the multi-purpose trail that circles the golf course is also available.
Puddlejumper View Park
Located on Hartford Place SE, this open space park includes a rock wall, play structures, a new swing set and open air shelter. A rock walking path adjoins from the park to the puddle jumper trail!
Bark Park
A dog park available for summer usage. This park has a large dog area along with a separate small dog area. Located in Veteran’s Park.
