craft central to open in former bomgaars building
The Orange City Development Corporation announced today the future opening of a Ben Franklin Crafts store in the former Bomgaars Supply store building on Orange City’s main street. Phil and Lori Warnke will be opening their second Ben Franklin Crafts store in the fall of 2014.
“We are thrilled that this important building in our vibrant downtown will be home to a Ben Franklin Crafts store,” reports Lyle Korver, President of the Development Corp. “This corner represents an important piece to our retail market. It will not only serve our residents’ stated wants and needs, but also enhance the ‘destination’ niche that continues to build here… an ethnic tourist experience, sought-after shopping and dining venues, and a quality of life enjoyed by all generations.”
Mike Hofman, Orange City Chamber of Commerce Director, adds that Orange City is on a path to become a destination for retail shopping, entertainment, cultural offerings, as well as great place to live. “Our downtown is home to many niche shops and nationally recognized retailers,” he explains. “We believe that Ben Franklin will be a perfect fit and help to complement our other downtown retailers.”
“We are looking forward to opening our second location, being a long-term member of the community, serving the citizens of Orange City, and helping draw new shoppers to town,” said Phil Warnke, co-owner of Ben Franklin. The Warnke’s have operated their Sheldon, Iowa store for over 20 years. Orange City’s Ben Franklin is expected to open in the fall of 2014.
