Second City Improv All-Stars

ORANGE CITY – It’s true. Chicago’s legendary comedy theatre, Second City, is coming to northwest Iowa. Second City’s Improv All-Stars will perform at the Unity Christian Knight Center in Orange City Thursday, Feb. 13 at 7:00pm.

The show will be entirely improvised, based on audience input.

Sponsor of the evening is the Orange City Arts Council.

Founded over 50 years ago in Chicago, The Second City has become a premier training ground for the world’s best comedians, with an alumni list that reads like a who’s who of American hilarity: Tina Fey, Joan Rivers, Stephen Colbert, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, John Candy, Gilda Radner and countless others.

Today there are Second City training centers in Chicago, Toronto and Los Angeles. Four touring companies perform throughout North America and abroad. And a communications division teaches improv-based skills to business professionals.

The company to perform in Orange City includes Nick Rees, a native of Sioux City and University of Iowa graduate… in addition to Kellen Alexander, Lisa Barber, Rachel LaForce, Chris Redd, and Christine Tawfik.

The evening promises to bring a family-friendly show with hilarious satire and cutting-edge improvisation.

General admission tickets for Second City Improv All-Stars may be purchased at the Orange City Arts Council office, Dove Christian Bookstore, and at the door. Adults are $10, students $7.
