We’re off to see the wizard, with Chicago-based COMPASS CREATIVE DRAMATICS. When that little Kansas farm house lands in a magical land, you’ll meet a singing & dancing yellow brick road, the Ozians, the monkeys/ Monkees and many more fantastical characters. The classic story comes to life with fun and funny new twists.

Auditions

Monday, August 1 – 9:00am to 12:30pm. Northwestern College DeWitt Theatre. Interested students—who have finished grades K-12—may audition. No acting experience necessary. Just come ready to be silly and have fun!

Students must attend entire audition. All children who audition MUST be available for rehearsal Monday through Friday, August 1-5 from 9:15am to 12:30pm, and must have Friday evening and Saturday afternoon free for the performances.

Audition does not require a prepared song or reading.

There are spots for 75 students.

Participation fee

Register & pay by July 25: $35. Register & pay after July 25: $45.

Register online thru summer recreation, or at Orange City Arts office at city hall.

Rehearsals

Monday, August 1 through Friday, August 5, from 9:15am to 12:30pm. Bring a snack!

Performances

Friday, August 5, 7:30pm and Saturday, August 6, 2:00pm at Northwestern College’s DeWitt Theatre. Admission will be: Adults $8; K-12 students $4. A DVD will be recorded of the local production of Wizard of Oz, available for $20 each.
