Introducing Orange City’s New Inclusive Park: A Gateway to Fun and Adventure

Orange City is excited to announce an addition to its recreational landscape as the City proudly unveils its brand new inclusive park. Puddle Jumper Park, a state-of-the-art facility, strategically situated right off the Puddle Jumper Trail, promises to provide endless fun and entertainment for residents and visitors of all ages and abilities.

A grand opening and ribbon cutting will be held at the park on Thursday, July 20 at 11:00 AM. The park is located at the intersection of Lincoln Way and 13th Street SE.

The grand opening of Orange City’s inclusive park marks a significant milestone in the City’s commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. Designed with accessibility at the forefront, this park ensures that every individual can participate in the joys of outdoor play without limitations.

This exciting new park includes a zip line, where kids and adults alike can soar through the air, creating memories that will last a lifetime. To beat the summer heat, the park features a range of splash features that are guaranteed to keep visitors cool and refreshed.

In addition to the zip line and splash pad, the park boasts a zero-entry merry-go-round, play features, and a safety surface specifically designed to accommodate individuals with mobility challenges including wheelchairs. Children with a wide range of abilities will be challenged to develop their movement skills in the playground.

Puddle Jumper Park was funded to a significant degree by a rebate provided to Orange City from our electric service provider, Missouri River Energy Services (MRES). These funds in addition to a GO Bond, donations, and grant money have made this park possible. MRES is an important partner of the City as the City provides safe and reliable electric service to our community.

The inclusive park’s location, right off the popular Puddle Jumper Trail, makes it easily accessible to residents and visitors alike. It seamlessly blends into the existing trail network and will supplement the growth of the City’s new housing developments.

Orange City’s inclusive park is set to become a vibrant hub of excitement, laughter, and connection. The City invites everyone to join the grand opening celebration, scheduled for July 20, at 11:00 AM. Mark your calendars and be prepared to share in the excitement of this new park
